Roman Modzelewski was a painter, designer, sculptor, teacher, an avant-garde creator and interdisciplinary artist.
His armchair RM58, made of fiberglass, completed in 1958, was a pioneering application of this material in Poland. From the formal side, it is a unique example on a world-wide scale of the fully-formed, homogeneous organic seat. It had to wait for serial production for over 60 years. Finally, thanks to Jakub Sobiepanek and his Studio Vzor we can again enjoy the beauty of Modzelewski's design.
